The Other Day

Music: Bobby Shiflett | Words: Jennifer Skates

Lost at sea, white churning foam
He had no plans yet to find home
He laughed at the spray,
Weathered storms on the stern
Ooooooooo, oooooooooo

Rocked to sleep, hands off the wheel
His dreams are locked up tight as steel
A glittering beam, far away on a shore
Ooooooooo, oooooooooooooo

He left the other day
Life was complicated
He suffocated
He meant to make a stand
But no reason could make its way
He took up on his plan,
To leave a life gone all astray

Eager and ready, fate lends a hand
And sends him face first in the sand
Awake from the haze, darkness into light
Ooooooooo, oooooooooo

His misery, leaves with the tide
When a mademoiselle takes him aside
A breath away, whispered peace from the pain
Ooooooooo, oooooooooo

They met the other day
His limbs were quaking
And celebrating
He never looked away
And her eyes took him strong and deep
Keeping fear at bay
The love she gave made angels weep
